Some songs just grab you, like ‘City On Our Knees’ for me

I usually listen to music as I work — instrumental when writing or reading, a variety when doing email and other stuff. It’s usually in the background of my consciousness, but some songs interrupt my thinking, and it happens in the opening notes.

One such brain grabber is “City On Our Knees,” by tobyMac. Love it! Both the music and the lyrics.

Tonight’s the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
It’s all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees

A tip of the hat to the songwriters — Jamie Moore, Cary Ryan Barlowe, and Toby Mac.

The song is on tobyMac’s album, Tonight.
